Sweets in Oceania.3



 
Last time, I wrote about sweets in New Zealand.
For example, hokey pokey and pavlova.
And then, this time I’d like to write about sweets in Australia.
Because Australia is a country like New Zealand, representing Oceania.
         The trend of taste in Australia is different from Japan’s.
In Japan, mass part of us like texture which is soft and light. However, texture preference that just the opposite.
Austrian likes heavy and easy to make stuff foods. For example, cake which filled with a lot of almond and cake which is a kind of batter cake. First of all, chocolate brownie is very famous.
When we heard the word brownie, many people think of American. However Austrian likes that. Which is with almond is especially famous.
         Raminton is a sweets which leading Australia. That was created about 100 years ago.
What is a raminton? Is that a kind of breads, cakes or snacks? That is a cake. The name of that is same with place names.
That is a sponge cake coated with coconuts powder and chocolate.
So calorie of that is very high.

 In Japan, that’s presence is like manjyu and dorayaki.

First of that, people made them to use old breads for good way.
That is said “waste not, want not” in many times.
The origin of the name raminton is came from the name of hat. 
 Mr. Raminton who worked as a governor general, always taking a big hat like the cake.
So people named the cake raminton.
We can buy them at super market, bakery and cake shops.
There are many kinds of them even sand jam.
          And then, next one is Tim Tam. That is very famous snack not only at Australia.
 In Australia, Tim Tam clash is very popular.
That is filled with clashed nuts.
 There are three flavors, mocha hazelnuts, honey corm and toffy nuts which is filled with toffy candy.
It can say that Austrian likes nuts and chocolate very well.
             Last one is Pavlova.
 That is famous in New Zealand and famous in Australia, too.
In Australia, there are tool which makes us easy to make pavlova at home.
 The name of that is “Pavlova magic”. That form is egg. And there is powder of egg whites.
 We can make pavlova by using only this and a little friuts. Austrian make this and eat this every time of home party.
So this tool is used by many Austrian.
          It can say Austrian like sweet foods through my research.
 There are many sweets I can’t write at this time. So, I’d like to write at next time.
